Our Approach

There is no single weight loss strategy that works for everyone.

We look beyond the number on the scale to understand the factors influencing your metabolism and weight. This may include nutrition, blood sugar and insulin regulation, hormone health, sleep, stress, movement, medications, and your previous experiences with weight loss.

Your provider will recommend specific laboratory testing to better understand your metabolic health and identify factors that could be making weight loss more difficult.

What to Expect During Your Focus Appointment

Your clinician may:

  • Review your health and weight history
  • Discuss previous weight loss attempts
  • Review nutrition, movement, sleep, and lifestyle
  • Evaluate medications and supplements
  • Review previous laboratory testing
  • Recommend additional testing when appropriate
  • Develop personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations
  • Discuss prescription weight loss medications when clinically appropriate
  • Establish realistic goals for sustainable weight management

Weight Loss Medications

Prescription medications, including GLP-1-based therapies, may be appropriate for some patients, but they are not the right choice for everyone.

When medication is considered, your provider will evaluate your health history, goals, potential risks, and other relevant factors to determine whether it is appropriate for you.

  • Medication is one tool within a larger strategy designed to support your metabolic health and long-term success.
